1. My name is Shannon.
2. I was born and raised on a little rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, also known as Hawaii.
3. I was born with a cleft lip.
4. I was Miss Chinatown Hawaii 2011.
5. I am in LOVE with the best MAN in the entire world, William Kapena Roy.
6. I am a lifeguard.
7. I work with Kapiolani Hospital’s Cleft and Craniofacial Center, which provides support for people and their families who also have the birth defect.
8. I believe that hardships and pain, make a person a more stronge, loving, and appreciative individual.
9.The quickest route to my heart is a sense of humor and a genuine care for others. 
10. I will make mistakes, and fall short, but I will always get up and keep trying, so that one day my children, and my children’s children can hear of my perseverance and achieve greatness.

    “Life in Hawai’i is slower and just easier.”

    I hate it when people from other places say stuff like that. Yes compared to some places, it may seem that the pace here is a little slower, but I think it’s just that people here are nicer. We don’t push on a busy sidewalk, or honk our horns just because someone is a few seconds slow when the light turns green. People in Hawai’i actually have to work harder than most, because we have to work hard to keep paradise, paradise…and live in it for that matter.
